Created in 1984 by Gérard Danson, OUTREMER has established itself as one of the benchmarks for blue water catamarans. A boat by sailors for sailors, OUTREMER boats stand out for their seaworthy qualities and exceptional compromise between comfort and performance.

The Outremer 5X is the brand’s flagship, a 59/61-foot catamaran with elegant lines. Voted European Boat of the Year by the press in 2013, Roland Jourdain, a great sailor with an impressive track record, even chose it as the base for his We Explore project! In other words, this VPLP design has left its mark!

No. 14 in the series, Mamaru Nui left the OUTREMER workshops in 2016. This beautiful 5X V2 with inverted bows sailed all the way to Polynesia, where her owners spent many happy years.

Following damage to the rudders in 2022, which led to water ingress, the boat underwent a major refit between 2022 and 2023 to bring her back to near-new condition.

Engines, electrical systems, electronics and other components were completely replaced.

Beautifully equipped with a carbon mast, carbon bulkheads, carbon tiller bars and a beautiful Hydranet wardrobe from ELVSTROM. Self-tacking solent, Genoa, Parasailor, Gennaker, nothing is missing for great sailing.

For comfort, a Fischer Panda 1000iPMS generator, 1580 W solar panels, air conditioning, heating, Gaggenau oven, 4-burner induction hob, 8kg washing machine (with drying function), dishwasher, 100l/h desalter.

Finally, the choice of electronics speaks for itself: B&G Zeus 3S 12inch, B&G H5000 graphic display and anemometer, AIS A Simrad V50 35, Lecomble&Schmitt and Raymarine autopilots, VHF B&G black box.

For safety there are 2 of the following systems: 2 Pilots, 2 anemometers, 2 compasses, 2 wind vanes, 2 converters… etc.
