Pacific Puddle Jump seminar during the Annapolis sailboat show!

The Pacific Puddle Jump has long been one of the most iconic blue-water rallies, linking the Americas to the paradise of French Polynesia. For decades, it has represented more than just a crossing—it is a rite of passage for sailors who dream of making landfall in some of the most breathtaking islands on earth.
In 2026, Sail Tahiti is proud to take over the management of this historic event and breathe new life into it. Our vision is to preserve the adventurous spirit of the rally while enriching the experience for every participant. The new edition will feature an expanded program of events, from cultural meetups with island communities to activities that celebrate Polynesia’s vibrant traditions. Sailors will have the chance to immerse themselves not only in the voyage but also in the authentic culture of the islands awaiting them.
Perhaps most importantly, we are introducing three levels of tailored support, designed to meet the needs of both seasoned ocean voyagers and those embarking on their first blue-water adventure. Whether you are looking for light guidance, in-depth training, or comprehensive passage-making support, Sail Tahiti will be by your side, ensuring you arrive with confidence and unforgettable memories.

Expert Sailing Support – More Than a Dealership
For many sailors, the dream of crossing oceans and arriving in French Polynesia can feel overwhelming. At Sail Tahiti, we understand the challenges—and we’ve built our reputation on helping people transform that dream into reality. We are not simply a dealership; we are a team of passionate sailors, instructors, and technical experts who have made the crossing ourselves and know what it takes.
Our team brings together a unique set of skills: skippers who can train you in seamanship, instructors who coach you in long-distance sailing techniques, and engineers who ensure your yacht is technically ready for the demands of a transpacific passage. Composite specialists, electrical experts, and systems technicians round out our crew, offering a level of hands-on knowledge that few organizations can match.
We’ve walked this path with many clients, from Europe all the way to Tahiti. In fact, one of our most inspiring stories comes from a French family who entrusted us to prepare both their yacht and their skills for the long crossing. With our guidance, they successfully sailed across oceans and arrived in French Polynesia, not only with a boat ready for the challenges ahead, but with the confidence to enjoy every moment of their journey. Lifestyle – Athletes Sailing in Polynesia
French Polynesia has always been a magnet for sailors, but in recent years it has also captured the hearts of professional athletes seeking both adventure and privacy. With its remote anchorages, world-class surfing and diving, and warm Polynesian hospitality, it offers the perfect escape for those who want to disconnect from the world and reconnect with nature.
This past summer, two familiar names joined the growing list of athletes exploring these islands under sail. Bixente Lizarazu, World Cup champion with the French national soccer team, spent his time surfing world-class breaks from the deck of the Sunreef 50 Tiril. Meanwhile, former NBA star Boris Diaw navigated the turquoise waters of the Tuamotus aboard his own Lagoon catamaran, experiencing the unique combination of freedom, adventure, and tranquility that these islands provide.
Their stories are proof of what many sailors already know: Polynesia is more than a destination—it is an experience that stays with you for a lifetime.
